Srinagar: On a breaking update coming from Jammu Kashmir Security forces gunned down two terrorists during an encounter in the Anantnag districtr this morning. The encounter started after the security forces launched an anti-terrorist operation in the Halkan Gali area.
In the early morning, a confrontation occurred in the Khaynar area of Srinagar during a cordon and search operation conducted by a joint team of police and security forces. This operation is part of ongoing anti-terrorism efforts following a recent attack on two migrant workers from Uttar Pradesh in Budgam district, marking the fourth targeted attack on migrants in the Kashmir Valley within two weeks. The most deadly incident took place on October 20, when seven individuals—including a local doctor and two workers from Bihar—were shot dead by terrorists at a tunnel construction site in Ganderbal district.
Farooq Abdullah, the National Conference chief, expressed concerns about the rise in terror attacks, suggesting they may be aimed at destabilizing the newly formed government, led by his son, Omar Abdullah, who took office as Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir last month. He has called for an independent investigation into these incidents.
