In an unexpected turn of events, Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal took on the role of a delivery partner and faced challenges many delivery executives encounter daily. On Sunday, Mr. Goyal revealed that he was stopped from using a mall’s lift in Gurugram while picking up a food order from Ambience Mall.
Mr. Goyal, who was accompanied by his wife Grecia shared his experience on social media, highlighting the need for malls to treat delivery partners more humanely. He even had to sneak in to collect the order when a staircase guard took a break. The Zomato boss’s post sparked a conversation online, with many pointing out that not just malls, but residential societies also restrict delivery executives from using lifts.The incident sheds light on the daily struggles delivery partners face, with many calling for a change in policies to allow equal access to lifts and entrances.
