Shifting the Celebration Date to Follow the Hindu Calendar
The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has announced that the first anniversary of the Ram Mandir’s Pran Pratishtha ceremony will be celebrated on January 11, 2025, instead of the Gregorian date of January 22, 2024. This decision has been made to align with the traditional Hindu lunar calendar rather than the Gregorian one, reflecting the temple’s spiritual and cultural significance.
Significance of the Date Shift
The Pran Pratishtha ceremony, which marked the consecration of the Ram Mandir, took place during Paush Shukla Paksha Dwadashi, also known as Kurma Dwadashi — the 12th day of the waxing moon in the month of Paush according to the Hindu calendar. In 2025, this auspicious date falls on January 11. As a result, the trust has decided to observe the anniversary of this momentous occasion on that date.
Temple’s Architecture and Features
The Ram Mandir, which is being constructed in the traditional Nagara architectural style, will span 380 feet in length, 250 feet in width, and rise to a height of 161 feet. Once fully completed, the temple will consist of three floors, 392 intricately carved pillars, and 44 gates, making it a magnificent and culturally significant landmark.
This adjustment in the celebration date demonstrates the trust’s commitment to preserving and honoring traditional Hindu practices, ensuring that the temple’s anniversary aligns with the spiritual calendar that holds deep meaning for its devotees.
