Tirumala Body Bans Political Speeches At Temples
The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has announced a ban on political speeches at temples under its jurisdiction, particularly in Tirumala, to maintain the sanctity and spiritual peace of these sacred places. This decision comes after some politicians were seen offering prayers and darshan at the temple, only to later deliver political or hate speeches to the media in front of the temple. Such actions have reportedly disturbed the spiritual environment in Tirumala.
The TTD has issued a warning that legal action will be taken against those who violate this ban, including anyone using the temples for political or hate-driven statements. The TTD has urged everyone to cooperate with this decision to preserve the sanctity of the religious space.
In related news, the TTD will offer Srivari Darshan for residents of Tirupati on December 3. Tokens for this darshan will be available at the Mahathi Auditorium in Tirupati and the community hall in Tirumala. Residents from various regions, including Tirupati Urban, Tirupati Rural, Chandragiri, Renigunta, and Tirumala, can avail the darshan by presenting their Aadhaar cards. This initiative was decided at the TTD’s board meeting on November 18, where it was also agreed to provide Srivari Darshan to locals on the first Tuesday of every month.
