A terrorist involved in the killings of workers and a doctor in Jammu and Kashmir’s Ganderbal district has been shot dead by security forces. The terrorist, identified as Junaid Ahmed Bhat, was reportedly affiliated with the Pakistan-origin Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist group, according to sources.
The attack in Ganderbal, which has been a part of the ongoing wave of violence targeting non-local workers and civilians in the region, saw the targeted killings of several individuals, including a doctor. This tragic event raised concerns over the safety of civilians, especially professionals working in the area.
Security forces acted swiftly on intelligence inputs and managed to neutralize Bhat in a targeted operation. The operation is part of continued efforts by the Indian security forces to combat terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir, particularly focusing on groups such as Lashkar-e-Taiba, which has been responsible for several attacks in the region.
This incident underscores the ongoing security challenges in Jammu and Kashmir, as militants continue to target both locals and outsiders, creating an atmosphere of fear and instability in certain parts of the region.
