In a troubling development, Bollywood actor Salman Khan has received another death threat, with an anonymous message received by Mumbai traffic control stating that he would be killed unless he pays a ransom of ₹ 2 crore. Police sources confirmed that a case has been registered against an unidentified individual under sections related to extortion and death threats, and an investigation is underway.
This incident follows the recent arrest of a 20-year-old man from Noida, who was taken into custody for making death threats against Salman Khan and Zeeshan Siddiqui, the son of NCP leader Baba Siddique, who was tragically shot dead on October 12. The suspect, Gufran Khan, has been remanded to transit custody in Mumbai.
Previously, Mumbai Police apprehended Shaikh Hussain Shaikh Mausin, a 24-year-old vegetable seller from Jamshedpur, in connection with a threat message sent to the Mumbai traffic police’s WhatsApp helpline, which demanded a ransom of ₹ 5 crore.
Salman Khan has faced threats from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang in the past, allegedly linked to his involvement in a blackbuck hunting case during the filming of Hum Saath Saath Hain. In April, suspected gang members even fired shots outside his home in Bandra. In light of the ongoing threats, the actor’s security has been significantly increased.
