Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended heartfelt congratulations to Donald Trump on his significant victory in the U.S. presidential election. Describing Trump as “my friend,” Modi took to X (formerly Twitter) to share his sentiments, stating, “Heartiest congratulations my friend @realDonaldTrump on your historic election victory.”
Modi expressed his eagerness to renew collaboration between India and the United States, emphasizing the importance of strengthening the India-U.S. Comprehensive Global and Strategic Partnership. He stated, “As you build on the successes of your previous term, I look forward to renewing our collaboration to further strengthen the India-US Comprehensive Global and Strategic Partnership. Together, let’s work for the betterment of our people and to promote global peace, stability, and prosperity.”
As election results indicated a decisive win for the Republicans, Trump was poised for a remarkable comeback. The Republicans successfully flipped all seven battleground states, a striking turnaround from the previous election where Democrats won six out of seven.
During a speech to his supporters, Trump characterized his victory as a “magnificent victory for the American people.” He referenced the assassination attempt he survived on July 13, saying, “God spared my life for a reason.”
Trump labeled the Republican campaign as the “greatest political movement of all time,” adding, “We are going to help our country heal, fix our borders, and we made history for a reason tonight. We have achieved the most incredible political win. I want to thank the American people. I will fight for you and your family with every breath in my body.”
He concluded by noting that Democrats are now facing a substantial electoral vote tally of 315, indicating a significant shift in the political landscape.
