After celebrating a significant comeback win in the Haryana elections on Tuesday evening, Prime Minister Narendra Modi resumed his sharp criticism of the Congress on Wednesday. He accused the party of being “irresponsible” and called it a “factory for spreading hatred.” Modi claimed that the Congress is trying to “instill fear among Muslims” to secure votes from the minority community.
“The BJP has won in Haryana, but in Maharashtra, we need an even bigger victory,” the Prime Minister stated as he launched his party’s campaign for the upcoming Maharashtra elections.
Modi described the BJP’s “historic” win in Haryana—securing three consecutive terms—as reflective of the “nation’s mood.” He made these remarks while inaugurating infrastructure projects in Maharashtra, where the BJP has allied with factions of the Shiv Sena and NCP.
“The Congress is playing a dangerous game of hatred… it wants to destroy the country. We must all stay vigilant and cautious. I am confident that the people of Maharashtra will give a strong response to those who seek to divide society,” Modi said via video link.
He concluded by expressing his belief that Maharashtra’s voters would unite behind the BJP and the Mahayuti government, referring to the alliance between the BJP, Shiv Sena, and NCP, led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
