Maharashtra BJP president Chandrashekhar Bawankule has called on Chief Minister Eknath Shinde to be prepared for “sacrifices” in terms of seat-sharing for the upcoming state assembly elections, stressing that the BJP has made similar compromises to maintain the alliance. These remarks come just a day after the Election Commission announced the schedule for elections to 288 seats in the Maharashtra assembly.
The voting for the assembly polls is scheduled for November 20, with the counting set to take place on November 23.
Speaking to ABP Majha in Nagpur, Mr. Bawankule said, “Chief Minister Eknath Shinde must remain open-minded and be willing to make sacrifices. We, too, have made sacrifices to uphold the alliance. It is evident that the BJP aims to contest the seats we previously held.”
