IRCTC all set to launch Super App
IRCTC : Indian Railways Set to Launch Super App designed to provide travelers with a range of essential services within a single, user-friendly platform. This new application will consolidate all railway-related services, enabling users to easily purchase platform passes, book tickets, and track train schedules, among other functionalities, thereby streamlining the travel experience.
The Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS) is collaborating with the existing infrastructure of IRCTC to develop this app, aiming to unify various services that were previously scattered across multiple applications. While the super app will integrate these services, IRCTC will continue to serve as the primary interface for passengers accessing these offerings. Development of the super app is currently underway.
Under the recently signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), researchers from IIT Delhi will embark on a series of research and development projects focused on enhancing security, safety, scheduling, intermodal connectivity, and revenue optimization for Indian Railways. Faculty members from the Departments of Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, and Management Studies will collaborate on these initiatives, leveraging their interdisciplinary expertise to tackle significant challenges.

This partnership is anticipated to transform Indian Railways into a safer, more efficient, and technologically advanced organization. By merging innovative research with practical applications, the collaboration seeks to address some of the most critical issues facing Indian Railways today.
Currently, railway passengers must navigate multiple platforms to meet their various needs, including IRCTC Rail Connect for ticket bookings, IRCTC eCatering Food on Track for meal orders, Rail Madad for feedback, UTS for unreserved ticket purchases, and the National Train Enquiry System for real-time train updates. The new super app aims to centralize these services, offering a streamlined and user-friendly experience for millions of railway users.
In addition, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS) to enhance railway infrastructure, safety, and operational efficiency throughout India.
