Ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections in February next year, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal announced that people above the age of 60 will be treated for free under the ‘Sanjeevani Yojana’. This initiative will apply to all government and private hospitals in Delhi once his party retains power.
Kejriwal expressed, “It is now our duty to take care of you. You people have worked hard to take the country forward.” He emphasized that there would be no upper limit on the cost of treatment for senior citizens.
As part of the announcement, Kejriwal mentioned that the registration for the scheme would begin in a couple of days, with AAP workers visiting homes to help with the registration. They will provide a card that seniors will need to keep safe. The scheme will be implemented once the party forms the government after the elections.
Additionally, AAP has released its list of candidates for all 70 seats in the Delhi Assembly. Kejriwal confirmed that he will contest from the New Delhi seat, while Chief Minister Atishi will contest from the Kalkaji constituency.
