The extradition process has officially commenced to bring Anmol Bishnoi, the younger brother of notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, back from the United States. A special court under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) has issued a non-bailable warrant for his arrest in connection with a firing incident outside actor Salman Khan’s residence.
Sources from the Mumbai Police’s Crime Branch stated that they are currently gathering necessary court documents to finalize the extradition formalities. Once completed, a formal request will be sent to the central government for further proceedings. Additionally, a red corner notice has been issued to facilitate his search internationally.
The Crime Branch initiated this extradition effort after receiving alerts about his presence in the US; he was previously thought to be in Canada. Last month, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) included Anmol Bishnoi on its most-wanted list, and a reward of ₹10 lakh was announced for information leading to his capture.
