Rohan Mirchandani, the co-founder and CEO of Epigamia, tragically passed away on December 21, 2023, at the age of 41 due to a cardiac arrest. Mirchandani was instrumental in the creation and growth of Drums Food International, the parent company of Epigamia, which became India’s leading Greek yoghurt brand.
He played a pivotal role in building the brand into a successful business, offering a variety of healthy and innovative products such as yoghurt, milkshakes, almond drinks, smoothies, and lactose-free options.
Who was Rohan Mirchandani?
Born and raised in the U.S., Mirchandani attended Bergen Catholic High School in New Jersey. He later pursued a Bachelor of Science in Finance and International Business at NYU Stern School of Business, followed by an MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He began his career in 2004 as an Associate at Duff & Phelps, working in their CVC division. He also served as a Board Member at The Ross Group, a private holding company focused on logistics and warehousing across North America.
In 2013, Rohan co-founded Drums Food International, and under his leadership, Epigamia grew to prominence. The brand focused on offering preservative-free, plant-based, and lactose-free products, aligning with health-conscious consumer trends. Under Mirchandani’s guidance, the company expanded its product range and planned future growth, including expansion into the Middle East and ambitious revenue targets.
Mirchandani’s leadership was praised by his team, with senior members like COO Ankur Goel and co-founder Uday Thakker expressing their grief and determination to carry forward his vision and values. His contributions to the food industry and his inspiring leadership will continue to be remembered.
