Atishi Raises Over Rs 19 Lakh in 24 Hours Through Crowdfunding
Delhi Chief Minister Atishi has successfully raised over Rs 19 lakh in online donations within just 24 hours of launching her crowdfunding campaign to contest the upcoming assembly elections. Atishi, who is the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate from the Kalkaji constituency, set an ambitious goal of collecting Rs 40 lakh for her election campaign fund.
As of noon on the following day, her donation page reported that 455 donors had contributed a total of Rs 19,32,728. Atishi expressed her gratitude on social media, saying, “I am truly overwhelmed by the incredible response to my crowdfunding campaign on Day 1. This huge success is a reflection of people’s unwavering faith in the Aam Aadmi Party’s clean, honest, and transformative politics. Do keep the momentum going by spreading the word!”
The crowdfunding initiative was launched on Sunday with the release of an online donation link, encouraging people to contribute to her campaign. Atishi emphasized that AAP does not rely on donations from big businessmen, underscoring that the party’s politics are centered around honesty and working for the common people. She explained that the funds would be used exclusively for her election campaign, and donors could contribute any amount they desired.
In a heartfelt message on social media, Atishi also reflected on her journey in politics as a young, educated woman, expressing that her career was made possible with the support of the people. “As a young, educated woman, your belief and donations have enabled me to imagine a career in politics—a path I couldn’t have walked alone,” she shared. Atishi’s crowdfunding campaign highlights the growing trend of online fundraising in Indian elections, particularly among candidates promoting transparency and grassroots support.
