Actor Mohan Babu Visits Injured Journalist After Assault
Veteran Telugu actor Mohan Babu, who was booked for attempt to murder following an assault on TV9 video journalist Muppidi Ranjith Kumar, visited the journalist in a Hyderabad hospital to personally apologise. The incident occurred on December 10 at Babu’s Jalpally residence, where the journalist sustained fractures to his zygomatic bone.
The assault took place when the journalist visited Babu’s home to cover a family dispute. Babu allegedly confronted the journalist aggressively, using foul language and attacking him with a microphone, resulting in a head injury.
The attack led to protests from journalist associations, demanding justice and stricter measures to protect media personnel. In a statement on December 13, Babu expressed deep regret, explaining that the incident arose from a personal family dispute. He also apologized for the pain caused to the journalist and his family, acknowledging that the chaotic situation led to unintended harm.
