AAP's Next Poll Promise Is 24-Hour Water
Ahead of the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections, AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal has announced a series of welfare initiatives aimed at improving the living conditions of Delhi’s residents. One of the most significant announcements is the launch of 24-hour water supply in the capital, starting from the Rajendra Nagar area. Kejriwal stated that this initiative will soon expand to cover the entire city.
In addition to the water supply initiative, Kejriwal unveiled the Sanjeevani Yojana, which will provide free medical treatment to Delhi residents aged 60 and above. Under this scheme, elderly individuals will receive full coverage for medical expenses at both government and private hospitals. Kejriwal estimated that the scheme could benefit around 20-25 lakh senior citizens in the city. Registration for the scheme has already begun in the Jangpura assembly constituency, where AAP has fielded former deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia.
Kejriwal also highlighted the Mahila Samman Yojana, a scheme designed to provide a monthly allowance of Rs 2,100 to women in Delhi. The initiative has already seen significant support, with around 2.5 lakh women registering for it within hours of its launch.
Additionally, the AAP has announced the Dr Ambedkar Scholarship, which aims to support the higher education of Dalit students. However, the specific details regarding the budget and implementation of this scholarship are yet to be disclosed.
These initiatives are part of the AAP’s broader strategy to strengthen its appeal among various voter groups in Delhi, focusing on social welfare, women’s empowerment, and support for the elderly and marginalized communities.
