AAP-Congress Alliance for Delhi Assembly Elections
In a major political development, Arvind Kejriwal, the AAP chief, has firmly ruled out the possibility of an alliance with Congress or any INDIA bloc partners for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections. Kejriwal’s statement comes after the AAP-Congress alliance in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections failed, with the BJP sweeping all seats. The AAP and Congress had also engaged in seat-sharing talks before the Haryana Assembly elections, but those discussions ended without an agreement.
Kejriwal’s stance on the alliance comes amidst the party’s ongoing preparations for the Delhi Assembly elections scheduled for next year. His comments on the alliance were clear: “There will be no alliance in Delhi.”
Apart from political decisions, Kejriwal also addressed a concerning incident that occurred during a rally in Delhi, where an individual splashed a liquid on him. The AAP chief, visibly upset, questioned the lack of law and order in the capital and targeted Home Minister Amit Shah for not taking action. Kejriwal claimed that this attack was part of a broader issue of public safety, emphasizing that the focus should be on tackling gangsters rather than targeting political figures.
As the AAP gears up for the upcoming elections, the party continues to highlight its commitment to governance issues and law enforcement in the city. Kejriwal’s comments reflect his party’s resolve to navigate the electoral landscape independently, without any alliances.
