A tragic accident in Nagpur claimed the life of a seven-year-old girl after she fell from a scooter driven by her grandfather and was crushed under the wheels of a mini truck, police reported on Wednesday.
The incident occurred on Tuesday evening on a road connecting Gopal Nagar to Padole Square, according to officials from Pratap Nagar police station. The young girl was on her way to attend a dance class, riding pillion on the scooter with her grandfather.
Suddenly, an unidentified vehicle struck the scooter from behind, causing both the grandfather and the girl to fall onto the road. The girl tragically came under the rear wheels of a mini truck moving in the same direction, an official stated.
The Pratap Nagar police have registered a case against the unidentified driver and initiated an investigation to trace and apprehend the culprit.
