At least six people, including three children, were killed in a tragic head-on collision between a truck and a van in the Hathras district of Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday. The incident occurred in Jaitpur village, under the jurisdiction of the Hathras Junction police station.
Circle Officer of Sikandrarao, Shyamveer Singh, confirmed the deaths, stating that six people, including three children, had lost their lives in the accident. The police are currently working to identify the victims, and the family members of those deceased have been contacted.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed his deep condolences over the tragedy, calling the loss of life “extremely sad and heart-wrenching.” In a post on X, he extended his sympathies to the bereaved families, saying, “The loss of life in a road accident on the Mathura-Kasganj highway in the Hathras district is extremely sad and heart-wrenching. My condolences are with the bereaved family.”
He further instructed district administration officials to expedite relief operations and ensure that the injured are taken to the hospital for prompt treatment. The Chief Minister also prayed for the departed souls, asking Lord Shri Ram to grant them peace and for the speedy recovery of the injured.
