Bandipora, J&K – Four soldiers lost their lives on Saturday after an Army truck skidded off the road and fell into a gorge in Jammu and Kashmir’s Bandipora district, officials confirmed.
The accident occurred near the SK Payen area, with rescue teams swiftly dispatched to the site.
This tragedy follows a similar incident last month in Poonch, where five soldiers were killed and five others injured when their vehicle plunged into a 300-foot gorge.
The Army’s White Knight Corps had expressed condolences on X following the Poonch accident, stating, “All ranks of #WhiteKnightCorps extend their deepest condolences on the tragic loss of five brave soldiers in a vehicle accident during operational duty in the #Poonch sector.”
Several leaders, including former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, expressed grief over the loss.
The Army is expected to conduct an inquiry into the incident to determine the cause of the accident.
